Join us for an evening of short talks and conversation with people working across production design, architecture, industrial design, hardware, robotics, software, AI infrastructure, and venture capital followed by drinks and a chance to meet others thinking about what Los Angeles might build next.
Los Angeles is changing quickly. In 2025 alone, nearly $12 billion in venture capital went into LA companies, as a new technology industry has begun taking shape across robotics, hardware, manufacturing, AI infrastructure, mobility, and new kinds of physical products.
This is happening in a city that already spent generations learning how to imagine things that didn’t exist yet.
Hollywood built entire disciplines around designing speculative worlds: production designers, concept artists, VFX studios, architects, engineers, craftspeople, and technologists working together to make unfamiliar futures feel believable. Today, many of those same questions are showing up in the physical world: How should a robot move? What should a new machine feel like? How do we interact with an autonomous object? What should the infrastructure behind all of this look like?
We’ll hear from people approaching this future through the lens of storytelling and narrative, shaping how these technologies enter the collective imaginary.
Together, we’ll look at how an idea moves from prop → prototype → product, what new creative practices are emerging around physical technology, and why Los Angeles might be one of the most interesting places to be part of that conversation right now.
