☕ Women Backing Women: LA Tech Week Edition

Capital, Conviction, and the Future of Female-Focused Investing

The data is clear, but the funding gap remains wide. True change doesn't come from asking for a seat at the table—it comes from building our own.

Following a packed, high-demand launch in Palo Alto and our expansion to SF, we are bringing our high-impact event series down the coast for LA Tech Week.

Join Sisters Female Founders Initiative on October 12 for an exclusive morning breakfast gathering curated for female founders, angel investors, venture capitalists, and Limited Partners (LPs). Together, we will explore the immense economic power of women backing women, break down barriers to capital allocation, and actively shape the future of female-focused investing.

Whether you are an experienced check-writer looking to scale your portfolio or a founder actively navigating the Southern California fundraising landscape, this room is strictly curated to spark meaningful investment relationships and expand the ecosystem of women supporting women.

🎤 Meet the Panel Speakers: • La Keisha Landrum Pierre – Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Emmeline Ventures. A forward-thinking venture capitalist and three-time founder, La Keisha deploys capital into high-growth, tech-enabled startups across women's health, wealth, and sustainability. Her playbook is backed by 13+ years of hyper-scaling operational leadership (including scaling Sahara Reporters Media Group to 50M users) and research validation at the Harvard Innovation Lab.

• Lauren Garner – Managing Director and Wealth & Family Office Advisor at IEQ Capital. Lauren brings more than 25 years of investment experience and today advises families, founders, and executives on investment strategies spanning public and private markets. Previously, she served as Chief Investment Officer of a $4 billion multi-family office and as an in-house investor for a prominent multi-generational family office. She has a long-standing focus on private investing and is actively engaged in building connections across women-led venture and investment networks. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton University.

• Tina Rahmani – Investor & Advisor, Co-Founder of SoCal Women's Health Collective. Tina is a strategic startup advisor, investor, and fractional operator heavily anchored in the SoCal women's health ecosystem. She helps early- and growth-stage startups navigate fundraising milestones and champions structural, financial shifts that position investing in women as a core economic lever. A Chicago Booth alumna, she previously led consumer product and marketing teams to a $3B exit.

• Valeria Martinez – Principal at VamosVentures and Board Co-President at SomosVC. Valeria began her career at Deloitte Consulting before completing her MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business. A dedicated ecosystem builder, she leverages deep institutional expertise from Harlem Capital and PayPal Ventures to deploy capital into disruptive, fintech, health tech, and SaaS companies led by underrepresented founders.

Moderator: Assel Seitova — Founder, Sisters Capital VC & Sisters Female Founders Community Venture capitalist and ecosystem builder dedicated to closing the gender funding gap. Through Sisters Capital VC and her dedicated female founders community, Assel builds critical financial infrastructure, and supports female focused early-stage investments, and creates strategic mentorship pathways tailored specifically for women entrepreneurs navigating the venture landscape.
