Frontier 2030: What Breaks First
With the billions invested in capacity, compute is now a procurement and time problem. What limits the frontier today is less glamorous: the supply of expert data, the environments models learn in, and the discipline to tell whether a change actually helped. One of those gives way before the others. We want to work out which, and what the frontier looks like on the other side.
Frontier 2030 is an evening in San Mateo for the people building it. Researchers and engineers from the labs, the teams supplying the data and environments behind them, and the investors who have to price all of it. No keynote. No product talk. We put the arguments on the table and let the room fight them out. Whether open weights take the workload or only the token count. What agentic means once a model runs for six hours instead of six seconds. Which benchmark everyone still trusts will look embarrassing by 2028. Short provocations to start, dinner to finish. Come with a position you are willing to lose.
