We are excited to invite you to our annual San Francisco Oyster Bake during Fleet Week!
The Navy ships will be in, and the Blue Angels will be performing overhead. Learn more about Fleet Week
Event Highlights: - Fresh oysters straight from Tomales Bay. - We’ll dig a pit on the beach, line it with California oak, and use mesquite wood for a fire so you can warm or grill items other than oysters. - Snacks, drones, frisbees, footballs, and more.
What to Bring: - Some food and/or drinks to share along with a related fun story and/or politically incorrect jokes. - Feel free to bring along good friends and family to share the experience as well.
Fun Facts: - The first Oyster Bake was initiated by David and five others in the summer of 1987, a year after Burning Man started. - Initially, the oysters were sourced from Johnson's Oyster Farm, where the first West Coast oysters were crossbred with Japanese varieties. - For the initial decade, all invitations were mailed via hand-drawn postcards by David featuring detailed map. - Over the years, the event's location has moved from Half Moon Bay, to Drake's Bay, and now resides at Baker Beach. - Fleet Week typically offers the best weather in San Francisco, ensuring optimal visibility and flying conditions.
