Join us for an unfiltered panel discussion exploring what happens when designers take the lead and don’t wait for permission to build. Design Founder Takeover brings together a bold lineup of founders who started their careers in design and are now leveraging AI to build companies from the ground up. This conversation will dive deep into the unique vantage point of design-led founders: how their design intuition shapes product thinking, what it means to prototype with AI as your cofounder, and how they navigate building, scaling, and fundraising as non-technical founders in a tech-dominated space. Whether you're a designer dreaming of starting something or just curious about what it looks like when creativity meets code, this is the panel you don’t want to miss. Who Should Attend: Designers, founders, builders, product thinkers, AI experimenters, and anyone curious about the evolving role of design in startup creation. 🎤 Who’s on the Panel Izac Ross - Founder & CEO of Haven Headache & Migraine Center Izac Ross is the founder and CEO of Haven Headache & Migraine Center, a virtual-first clinic reimagining how millions access expert headache care. Living with migraine since childhood, he brings a rare blend of patient perspective and healthcare innovation experience from Hinge Health, Alto Pharmacy, and Collective Health. At Haven, Izac is building AI-enabled tools and care models that help patients track progress, reduce disability, and find relief. A former product designer, he is endlessly curious about what people need to thrive. Outside of work, Izac enjoys hiking with his dog Parker, ceramics, live music, and biking. Kris Woyzbun - Co-Founder & CEO of Gumption Kris Woyzbun is a 2X tech founder and product design executive based in Palo Alto, California. Having held leadership roles at Google, SSENSE, EDITR, and IDEO, and with recognition from IDSA Awards and NVIDIA, Kris's work focuses on building companies and products in consumer technology. Currently building Gumption, an AI Home Design Companion. Fifi Kara - Co-Founder & CEO of Aster Fifi Kara is originally from London, now in San Francisco, Fifi has 10 years building consumer and B2B products across the UK, Europe, and US. Most recently at Meta, she led Design for Health & Fitness (AR/VR), was a Staff Designer for Messenger (150M MAUs), and pioneered Workrooms Web. As a two-time founder and early startup hire, she has focused on 0-1 building and scaling. She co-founded a YC-backed fintech in 2019 and joined Bulb as an early design hire, growing usage from 100K to 1.4M MAUs. Fifi is a LSE graduate, Fulbright Scholar and is self-taught in product design and front-end engineering.

ECHO STORY NIGHTS 4 Evenings. 10 People per Night. Only Shared Stories. Wednesday to Saturday | Intimate Gatherings in Marina WHY COME? Find your people – We match you with others who’ve lived similar stories. No small talk – Just deep, real conversations about life, SF, and the future. Build the next wave – You care about humanity’s future and believe AI can help. HOW IT WORKS Before the Event – We’ll ask you a few questions to find your story’s "tribe." At the Gathering – Share your story (5-10 mins), then listen to others. THE NIGHTS Wednesday: "Lost & Found" Stories about getting lost in SF—and finding something unexpected. The bartender who discovered a secret poetry club in the Tenderloin The founder who slept in Dolores Park before their first funding round The artist who turned a Muni breakdown into their best work Thursday: "The City That Raised Me" Stories about the people, places, and moments that shaped you here. The teacher who learned more from their students than any degree The engineer who built their first app in a laundromat The writer who found their voice arguing with a barista at Café Trieste Friday: "Future Fragments" Stories about glimpses of the future—weird, hopeful, or terrifying. The scientist who saw AI do something beautiful (and unrepeatable) The activist who overheard the next big idea on a 38 Geary bus The parent who realized their kid is building a different SF Saturday: "Goodbye Letters" Stories about leaving—or staying—and what SF really is. The founder who walked away from Silicon Valley to bake bread The artist who almost left but found one reason to stay The retiree who’s watched the city change for 50 years WHO SHOULD APPLY? You have a personal story about life, SF, or tech’s role in humanity. You care deeply about the future and AI’s potential for good. You want to meet others on the same journey. Just tell us: Your story (in 1-2 sentences) Why you want to come DETAILS Food & Drink: Wine, tea, and something delicious from a local spot "This isn’t a meetup. It’s the start of your next chapter." #EchoStoryNights #SFStories #TechForHumans This event is a part of #SFTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Reach Capital, Inflect Health
A breakfast conversation where healthcare's frontline meets innovation. Clinician burnout has reached crisis levels, yet the gap between what providers need and what technology delivers continues to widen. Reach Capital and Inflect Health invite you to an intimate morning dialogue with the physicians, health system leaders, and founders who are working to close this divide — one meaningful solution at a time. This invite-only session brings together the people on the ground: clinical leaders navigating impossible caseloads, system operators redesigning broken workflows, and entrepreneurs building with deep empathy for provider pain points. You'll hear honest perspectives on what actually works in clinical settings, the human factors that determine adoption, and how the best solutions earn clinician trust rather than just administrator approval. Connect with the people building, buying, and backing healthcare's most clinician-focused innovations. This event is a part of #SFTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.

Fennel Doyle, who created D5WR -- a STEAM crusade to boost regenerative energy, modal shift & the green economy -- was nearly murdered on this very route 14 years ago. She is a NYC Parsons School of Design Dean's List graduate, NCAA Division 1 Ivy League Champion (with Brown University Women's Soccer team), road runner, scuba diver, dancer and acclaimed solar punk artist. She was hit by a car driver (AKA "Death Monster") which broke both her legs simultaneously, while she was going to Ocean Beach, to catch the Men's World Surf Competition of American OG Kelly Slater vs rising Brazilian superstar Gabriel Medina. She was released from the hospital on 11/11/11, bionic, with a titanium right leg. Luckily, Fennel fully recovered from the crash, and was able to reproduce a child. In 2020, Fennel created D5WR when schools closed during COVID for 2 years. "In the dark shadow of death*", Fennel and her (then 7 YO) son began going to the beach park together seeking life, energy, and observation-based learning flow state, as school. D5WR campaigned tirelessly to unlock the path for all, forever, to create health for future generations, and particularly for Black & broke folks living in the city. Health = Wealth. Join us for a focused Tech Week session that digs into recent landmark studies from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Stanford, which measure AI’s impact on productivity, automation, and the future of work. We’ll feature a series of short talks from researchers at OpenAI, Stanford, and Epoch that cut through the noise and share fresh insights from research and adoption in the field. The goal is to provide a clear, evidence-driven perspective on the economics of AI in 2025 — and spark conversation about what it means for founders, operators, and investors. This Tech Week session brings together founders, investors, and leaders in consumer software, AI, and services to explore how autonomous, agentic AI is rewriting the rules of marketing technology. From hyper-personalized customer journeys to predictive growth strategies, we’ll dive into the innovations transforming how companies connect, scale, and thrive. We’ll look at what the future could look like in one year and in five years: how team management will evolve, how budgets will be allocated, and what signals deserve our attention today. We’ll also explore the marketing stack of the future which platforms will die, and which will thrive, how team structures will shift, and what role humans will play. The conversation will take a business-first perspective, viewed through the lens of startups and investors, to imagine how the next era of MarTech will be built. This event is a part of #SFTechWeek, a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.

a16z speedrun
Please join us for the a16z speedrun AI Faire, featuring the hottest AI B2B startups coming out of the last 5 batches. You'll have the opportunity to meet dozens of founders from a16z speedrun's past and present and learn about (and demo!) the AI tools they're building. This is for executives looking to adopt new tech at their company. There is no planned programming - this is for you to walk around and see AI demos from early-stage founders in a casual environment. Entry times will be staggered. Please provide your preferred entry time upon application to attend. We will confirm with an email what your entry time is for the event. Note: Investors will automatically be put into the 3pm-5pm time slot. a16z speedrun is Andreessen Horowitz's program to invest in, and help, new startups. We run a 2x/year program that spans 12 weeks, with dozens of startups working out of a16z’s offices in SF and LA. So far we've invested in over 150 startups with $180M+ in capital deployed. Due to capacity constraints, we will not be able to accommodate every guest that applies. Please wait to see "you're on the list" before you make plans to attend. Thank you for understanding. We look forward to hosting you! This event is a part of #SFTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.
