Dev Workshop & Mixer: Prompts to Pints with Reka
Kick off your Tech Week evening with Reka! Join us for an interactive session where developers and builders will get hands-on with multimodal agents in a focused workshop, followed by an early happy hour mixer.
We’ll dive into how Reka’s latest tools can power real-world workflows, then shift gears to casual networking over drinks and bites, with fellow devs, founders, and partners.
Designed as a pre-game to the busy Tech Week nights, this 4–7 pm gathering gives you the best of both worlds: learn something new, connect with the community over drinks and light bites, and still make it to your evening plans (we know how exciting things can get during the #SFTechWeek)
This event is a part of #SFTechWeek, a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.
Optional: Bring your own laptop if you’d like to follow along during the workshop. We’ll walk through building simple multimodal agents together, and having your own device means you can try the tools live, experiment with prompts, and leave with something you built yourself. If you prefer to just watch the demos and enjoy the conversation, that works too!

Energy to Build: Navigating the U.S. as a Global Founder + Padel Free Play
[UPDATE: We’ll have immigration attorney Sophie Alcorn join us to answer all your questions about visas and green cards.]
👋 Moved to the U.S. to build or work in tech? This event is built for you.
You know how much energy gets drained on visas, housing, credit, healthcare, all the basics. That's the real opportunity gap.
Oyster is reshaping it with AI + community, so you can protect your most valuable resource: your focus & energy.
📅 ABOUT THE EVENT:
At Oyster, we believe the best hacks come from each other. That’s why our first event for #SFTechWeek is all about building energy together.
This night isn’t just Oyster → you. It’s people <> people: peers sharing hacks, stories, and energy while connecting on and off the padel court.
We’ll share insider tips, play some padel (all levels welcome), and connect with people who truly get the journey.
✅ ATTENDEE TAKEAWAYS:
• Learn what sets back global founders & hires in the U.S.
• Walk away with hacks to save time, energy, and resources.
• Experience Oyster’s community-first approach: the power of people helping each other.
• Play padel at Bay Padel — Silicon Valley’s “new hotspot for tech networking” (SF Standard & CBS). All levels welcome.
• Close the night with a relaxed brewery hang in Dogpatch.
Space is limited (30 spots). RSVP fast to save your spot!

Remote Leaders Happy Hour: Tips, Tools & Tequila
Join fellow remote team leaders and startup founders for a casual happy hour on the future of remote work. Connect, swap stories, and share tools and strategies for building productive, happy teams from anywhere.
Running a remote team comes with unique challenges — from staying productive across time zones to keeping teams engaged and avoiding burnout. We’re bringing together startup founders and remote team leaders to share what’s working (and what isn’t) when it comes to running remote teams.
This isn’t a panel or a pitch — just good drinks, good conversation, and a room full of people who get what it’s like to build and lead remotely. Whether you’re scaling your first team or refining how your company works across borders, you’ll leave with fresh ideas, new connections, and maybe even your next favorite tool for running remote.
Come for the community, stay for the conversations that help you (and your team) work smarter from anywhere.

AI in Service of LifeLanguages
This salon invites discussion on LifeLanguage companies and their use of AI as a force for good in healthcare.
LifeLanguage companies specialize in building new AI models to understand the languages of life—proteins, RNA, and DNA. These companies differ from traditional biotech in that they investigate these languages not with wet-lab approaches but with GPUs. AlphaFold is a leading example in this nascent space and won the Nobel Prize last year. Since then, many startups have modeled their teams after the AlphaFold team, generating sister models that rearrange protein space to form combinations that would have taken evolution hundreds of millions of years to create. These new rearrangements have special properties for curing human disease, strengthening agriculture, and improving manufacturing.
At Ecotone, our mission is to pioneer the next frontier: a model we call Hawaiian Diamond, capable of reading the human genome-as-a-first-language. The challenge is that AlphaFold was possible because of 3D protein data (PDB), where each protein structure serves as a spatial scaffold. For DNA, which is an encoded information space, no such training data exists (AlphaGenome, NT, etc have a priori constraints). Our breakthrough is a novel method to create this data by shifting from spatial to functional understanding. We interlace, arrange, and layer genomic outputs to build a functional scaffold—the "Point Cloud Feature"—that assigns meaning to sections of DNA. Hawaiian Diamond, trained on these scaffolds, will directly pinpoint the root causes of disease, generating the GPS coordinates needed by DNA-guided medications (e.g., CRISPRs) to cure all 10,000 genetic diseases. This will improve the lives of approximately 800 million people and begin the process of fully annotating the mysterious, unresolved sections of our DNA.
Come and discuss over champagne [no oysters, too risky :(] at a secret cozy space. Thanks to our sponsors Columbia University Venture Community (CVC SF) and #SFTechWeek.
Format: Fireside chat followed by conversation and good vibes. Location will be made available the day before the event.

Meet Others at Rally With Boardy
We’re all in on IRL. But recently we've been thinking, could AI take the experience to new levels?
That’s why we’re partnering with Boardy – the world’s AI superconnector – to help you meet the right people before the event even starts.
Here’s how it works:
Click on the link and send Boardy the pre-filled WhatsApp message
👉 https://whatsapp.boardy.ai/rally-la-tech-week
Once you provide your LinkedIn and email, Boardy will give you a quick call to learn about you, what you’re working on, and who you’d love to meet.
Boardy will then suggest relevant attendees to connect with. If you both say yes, he’ll make a warm intro via email and WhatsApp — and even give you some context to spark the conversation.
