/ About this event
The Sameritan Project is a 501(c)(3) public systems lab that tests solutions to community problems before cities and companies adopt them.
Join us for a drop-in community build during LA Tech Week. It's not a competition: no judges, no prizes, no pitches. Come for an hour or stay all afternoon and work alongside others on real challenges sourced from community organizations and civic initiatives.
We start with the problem, not the technology. Challenges may include food systems, civic infrastructure, climate and energy, community resilience, and the road to the 2028 Games in Los Angeles. One example: tools to route and coordinate resources across a fragmented network of organizations, a problem that matters more as Los Angeles prepares for major events.
Whether you're a software engineer, data scientist, designer, product thinker, researcher, or a neighbor with no technical background, there's a place for you. Bring a laptop and a charger. What we start can keep growing after the day ends.
