🌊 touch ./SAND — The Voice Agent Hackathon
Openbase is bringing voice-first building to Venice Beach for LA Tech Week.
What if you could step away from your desk and still direct an entire team of AI agents from your phone?
Spend the day building voice-controlled agent teams, mobile workflows, developer tools, and experiences that free people from their screens. We’ll use Openbase, the voice-first mobile interface for managing teams of AI agents, alongside technologies including LiveKit, Cartesia, AssemblyAI, Claude Code, and Codex.
Bring your laptop for setup and development—but expect to experiment with controlling your work through voice. Please bring headphones or AirPods so everyone can build comfortably.
This is a collaborative, outdoor-friendly build sprint with real demos at the end. Come with an idea, join a team when you arrive, or simply bring your curiosity.
What might you build? - A voice-controlled software-engineering team - An agent command center for founders - Hands-free research and knowledge workflows - Voice-driven sales or customer operations - Mobile tools for directing agents away from your desk - Something we haven’t imagined yet
Who should join? Developers, designers, technical founders, AI researchers, and creative builders interested in voice interfaces and agentic computing.
Non-coders are welcome, particularly product thinkers and designers prepared to contribute to a collaborative team.

Tentative schedule 10:00 AM — Breakfast and arrival 10:30 AM — Welcome and Openbase demonstration 11:00 AM — Ideas, teams, and technical setup 11:45 AM — Build sprint 1:30 PM — Lunch and check-in 2:15 PM — Keep building 4:30 PM — Final preparation 5:00 PM — Demonstrations and awards 6:00 PM — Sunset beach walk and networking
📍 We’ll build at a Wi-Fi-equipped indoor–outdoor venue near Venice Beach and finish together on the sand. The exact location will be shared with approved guests.
