/ About this event
With almost daily headlines of AI’s growing energy and resource demands amid record-breaking heat and drought, can the AI boom be part of the solution to the climate crisis without adding to the problem?
Join Women in Cleantech & Sustainability for a conversation about advancing emerging technology while safeguarding against further environmental and social risk.
Hear from experts working across tech, AI, and sustainability on where AI can have real impact and when its use is worth the compute. We’ll take a look at what it takes to build more efficiently, what responsible deployment looks like as technology and regulation evolve, and where AI is already proving useful in responding to climate and social challenges.
Hosted as part of LA Tech Week, this panel brings climate into the broader conversation about AI’s future. With climate represented in only a small fraction of Tech Week programming, this event creates space to examine technology’s role in both contributing to and addressing the climate crisis.
