Bots now make up more than 53% of all web traffic. GenAI-enabled fraud is projected to cost U.S. companies more than $40 billion by 2027. Platforms are stuck relying on verification methods like CAPTCHA and ID scans that are becoming more anachronistic by the day. The result? Consumers are losing trust in what they see and hear online. Kids easily break through age gates, accessing anything from prescription drugs to online gambling. Meanwhile, companies are losing the battle to prove whether an actual human is behind an account, of an appropriate age, and allowed to be on their platform.
