Behind the metrics: the lifestyle, rituals, secrets, and practices across cultures.
LONGEVITY SALON · CHAPTER 3: CULTURE Part of a three Longevity Series by EMBODIED during SF Tech Week.
Longevity tech has gotten very good at one thing: measurement. Rings, patches, DEXA scans, 100-biomarker panels, biological age scores that update weekly. Almost none of it touches what you actually do on Tuesday night. The industry sold the number. Nobody sold the life.
The most persuasive longevity evidence on earth is not in a lab. It is a culture, and it runs on habits so ordinary nobody thought to productize them.
So let's start with what is not true. Koreans absolutely do age. Korea has some of the worst sleep deprivation in the OECD and a heavy drinking culture. A lot of what Americans notice is selection bias. Now the part that is real: photoprotection culture, heat and cold cycling, walking dense cities, a soup and fermentation based diet, early dermatology as normal, and maintenance that starts at 15 instead of correction at 45. They started 20 years earlier and never stopped.
Then we travel across cultures. Come debate with me. Bring your own cultural longevity protocol.
SCHEDULE 6:30 PM Doors open and check-ins 7:00 PM Opening: what is myth and what is real in Korean longevity 7:25 PM The debate: longevity rituals across cultures 7:50 PM The mic is yours: selected guests share their cultural practice 8:20 PM Connection and conversation 9:00 PM Close
WE HAND THE MIC TO YOU When you apply, tell us the cultural longevity practice you live by. We will select and curate a few answers, and those guests will get time on the mic to share their cultural insight and practice with the room. Selected guests take home a curated longevity and wellness gift.
WHO THIS ROOM IS FOR People building in longevity, working in wellness, or spending real money on both. The argument is the point.
This is the host's list, personally curated by Moonsun. General admission is by ticket.
YOUR HOST Moonsun Kim is a serial entrepreneur across fashion, wellness, and healthtech, and a cultural translator by training. She studied Art, Philosophy, and Culture in Korea, lived in Germany, and has spent the last ten years in San Francisco. Three cultures, three very different ideas of how to age well, lived firsthand rather than read about.
Before wellness, she spent a decade building taste and brands between Seoul, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks, where beauty, discipline, and ritual are culture long before they are a product. For the past three years she has been inside San Francisco's wellness scene, in the room with 200+ people a week, watching which habits actually hold.
