/ About this event
Most women who could be angel investing or investing as an LP in a fund aren't, and it's rarely about the money. It's that nobody ever walked them through the mechanics. We're here to change that!
Maxine Minter from Co Ventures and Dawn Dobras from Capital F are two women who did start, and have gone on to run their own funds. Over drinks, they'll host a candid masterclass on the two main ways into early-stage investing: writing your own cheques as an angel, and backing a fund as an LP. They'll cover what each actually involves, how much you really have to commit, how to decide which path (or both) suits you, and where your money goes.
Maxine runs Co Ventures, Australia's first dedicated pre-seed fund, and co-hosts First Cheque, a podcast about early-stage investing. She started angel investing in San Francisco with a $2,500 cheque and has run syndicates in both Australia and California, before becoming Australia's first solo female GP.
Dawn is an operator turned investor and the co-founder and GP of Capital F, a San Francisco fund backing pre-seed and seed startups in the $15 trillion female economy, across health, AI and digital commerce. Capital F recently closed a $17M debut fund, built largely on women LPs, many of them first-time fund investors.
We can't wait chat all things angel & LP investing, answer all of your questions and get to know you!
RSVPs essential.
