/ About this event
SF tech week is about what AI can do. This evening is about what the AI race is doing to us — to our minds, our hearts and our bodies.
Psychologist and AI researcher Anna Mikeda works on robopsychology, the psychology of AI minds and of the humans who interact with them. She brings the latest research together, and asks the safety question from the human side: not whether AI turns on us, but what we turn into.
Three movements. Minds: cognitive debt — what we stop doing when the model does it for us. Hearts: AI relationships, loneliness, and what an always-available companion does to our tolerance for other people. Bodies: the build loop as a reward loop — instant answers, a model that always agrees, the next project instead of shipping this one, and why it runs on the same architecture that gaming and social media exploit.
Then the practical part: what to do about this.
Talk, art, open Q&A, and tools you can use. For builders, users, and anyone who has noticed their own attention changing.
